Safe Sex Education – Advocate the education on sex and contraception based on peer reviewed data on harm reduction and prevention at an early age to cut down on future teenage pregnancies. Drug harm reduction & prevention education should also be a part of the learning curriculum. Families and communities would also be encouraged to take a more active role in these issues and structuring the best way to educate, again based on peer reviewed information.

Improve the quality of teachers with support for career-long training. Teacher pay scales comparable to other professionals with similar education and responsibilities. For child safety, teachers should also take competency and background tests.

Compensate inequalities in local school funding with bioregional funding when needed. Spending would be in accordance to student population and performance with adjustments based on need to help bring up school quality in communities that are suffering.

Move away from centralized administrations with site-based planning, policy-making, and management with participation by parents, communities, policy experts and teachers to implement programs best for each school. Every different community will have different needs.

Require public schools and buildings to adopt bioregional and sustainable energy standards that are ethical, local and carbon neutral.

End the diversion of public funds to for-profit corporations running private schools with unaccountable administrations, uncertified teachers, and segregated student bodies.

The right to education will be added into a Cascadian bill of rights, including trade schools and secondary facilities for those who would like to attend. Access to higher education must be available regardless of gender, class, race, or income status. The costs of these programs will quickly pay for themselves as Cascadian students enter the workforce and are adequately prepared to keep Cascadia competitive in a rapidly changing global market.
